St. Raphael novena

Thanks for joining this collective offering of prayer and solidarity.

Feel free to add your voice to the novena in whatever way feels powerful and accessible to you. All that’s needed is a few minutes to pray on each of the nine days — any additional offerings of candles, rosary recitations, or other rituals and spellcraft are welcome but not required.

The suggested prayer given here is based on three traditional prayers to Saint Raphael, with a petition to protect those facing unjust imprisonment and deportation at the hands of the US government.

Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace.

You who guides all journeys, you who heals the afflicted heart — grant the protection of your wings to those threatened by separation and sorrow at the hand of the unjust. Assist all migrants, immigrants, and other travelers seeking the promise of safety, liberation, love, and new life.

O Raphael, lead them toward those they are yearning for, those who are waiting for them — Raphael, Angel of happy meeting, lead them by the hand through all boundaries and borders. Let them not live as strangers in the province of joy.

Angel, guide of Tobias, lay this request at the feet of the Divine. Remember the weak, you who are strong, you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene and bright with the resplendent glory of God.
